Meals on Wheels Cuts Ribbon on Expansion

I joined the Meals on Wheels of the Greater Lehigh Valley team recently for the grand opening of their newly renovated and expanded facility.

Since its humble beginnings, Meals on Wheels serves our senior citizens and those with disabilities by providing them with quality meals and by delivering them with the utmost kindness and respect. Meals on Wheels assists over 2,000 individuals every day and is indispensable to those who rely upon them most.

That is why I am proud to have supported their mission by securing $500,000 in state funding to complete the renovations of this facility.

Sen. Browne and Rep. Day Secure $200,000 State Grant for New Tripoli Fire Company

Representative Gary Day (HD-187) and I recently secured a $200,000 state grant for the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli to replace its aging tanker truck, allowing the fire company to continue to offer its extraordinary level of emergency response.

The lack of a fire hydrant network in the fire company’s coverage area makes the tanker truck a critical asset, allowing them to bring water to combat fires. New Tripoli’s current tanker truck was purchased in 1996 and is in dire need of replacement.

The commitment and resolve displayed by our local firefighters, day-in and day-out, is nothing short of extraordinary. Because of their dedication to public safety, families can sleep a little more soundly at night, knowing that if they need help, these brave men and women are here to answer their call.

The 100% Volunteer Community Fire Company of New Tripoli was established in May of 1945 to provide fire services to the residents of Lynn Township. Its mission is to respond in a safe manner to all emergencies in New Tripoli and the surrounding communities requesting assistance and to help citizens with all types of emergencies, with the utmost regard for safety, and to function to the best of its abilities to limit the loss of life, the environment, and property.

Vaccination Clinic Huge Success

Thank you to all who came out to my COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic last month! Lehigh Valley Health Network provided free Pfizer shots to dozens of families in the Center City Allentown neighborhood.

Mega Allentown was on site providing great music and giving out free concert tickets to those who received the shot. The Salvation Army, Lehigh Valley gave away 400+ backpacks during their Back-to-School giveaway!

The COVID-19 Vaccine continues to be our best weapon against the virus, especially as case numbers and hospitalizations begin to rise again.

Thank you to all who helped make this event a great success

Senator Browne Hosts Successful Telephone Town Hall

More than 4,400 constituents joined me for a special State Budget Telephone Town Hall event!

I was joined by Matt Knittel, Director of the Independent Fiscal Office, and Robin Wiessman, Executive Director and CEO of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, to give an overview of Pennsylvania’s financial situation and the decisions we made in passing the 2021-22 state budget.

Telephone Town Halls are a great way to engage and participate in a traditional town hall format from the comfort of your own home. Thank you to all of the constituents who tuned in and asked questions.

If you missed the call, you can watch the re-run here!
