Senate Appropriations Chairman Pat Browne’s recent visit of Lehigh Career and Technical Institute (LCTI) in Schnecksville is featured this month on “The Browne Report” television show.
Dr. Tim Rushton, Executive Director of LCTI, takes Senator Browne and viewers on a personal tour of the institutes’ Schnecksville campus. Dr. Rushton highlights different programs and gives viewers a glimpse of the many labs that students use to acquire real world skills and expertise. The tour includes visits to the school’s culinary and baking, auto technology, mechatronics technology and electro mechanical labs.
“LCTI provides students with the opportunity to learn skills for careers in fields that are in high demand right now with employers here in the Lehigh Valley,” Senator Browne said. “LCTI is a tremendous educational asset to our community and continues to help provide our region with a highly-skilled labor force. This creates a distinct advantage for us in attracting new businesses to the area and retaining those that look to expand.”
Jan Brna, Director of LCTI Postsecondary & Workforce Education, and Rex Boland, Vice President/General Manager at B. Braun Medical Inc., are also featured on during the tour of LCTI’s campus. Both provide firsthand experience of how LCTI helps students prepare to succeed in today’s workforce.
Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is Pennsylvania’s largest career and technical school. Founded in 1971, LCTI today provides more than 45 skills-based programs of study, as well as academic instruction for about 2,700 ninth- through 12th-grade students from Lehigh County’s nine public school districts. The school’s state-of-the-art facilities encompass roughly 450,000 square feet on a 47-acre campus.
