Senator Browne’s Recent Tour of Smooth-On featured on his monthly show “The Browne Report”

Senate Appropriations Chairman Pat Browne’s recent visit to Smooth-On Inc. in Lower Macungie Township is this month’s feature installment on “The Browne Report” television show.

Clay Weston, co-owner of Smooth-On, takes Senator Browne and viewers on a personal tour of the company’s headquarters in Lower Macungie Township. The 370,000 square foot facility is located on the former Day-Timer campus and now houses Smooth-On’s fully-equipped production lines, warehouse, research and development lab, training center and business offices.

“Smooth-On is a true local business success story,” Senator Browne said. “Manufacturing companies, like Smooth-On, are still a big part of the backbone that makes up our American economy. I am pleased to see this company with a world-wide footprint continue to make the Lehigh Valley its home.”

Established in 1895, Smooth-On is a leading manufacturer of silicone rubbers, polyurethane rubbers and plastics, rigid and flexible urethane foams, epoxies, polysulfide rubbers, adhesives, coatings, release agents and other material technologies. Their products are used across the globe with innumerable applications, including in the creation of movie props and effects. Their products have been featured major film productions including Star Wars, The Hobbit Trilogy, Iron Man, Harry Potter, James Bond, Aliens and The Walking Dead.

“It was a pleasure to tour this incredible facility with Mr. Weston and to see how his products are created, developed, produced and shipped from right here in the Lehigh Valley,” Senator Browne said.
