Dog Licenses Available

Pennsylvania dog licenses for 2014 are now available at county treasurer’s offices. An annual license is $8.45 and a lifetime license is $51.45, according to Senator Pat Browne. If the animal is spayed or neutered, the annual fee is $6.45 and lifetime is $31.34. Discounts are available to older adults and people with disabilities.

State law requires all dogs three months and older to be licensed by January 1 of each year. Owners who fail to license their dogs could face a fine of up to $300 for each unlicensed dog.

The dog license application is simple and only requires owner contact information and details about the dog such as name, age, breed and color. For more information, including an online application and a list of county treasurers, visit
