She will serve as his legislative counsel in Harrisburg
Senate Majority Whip Pat Browne announced that Vicki Wilken, Esq. has joined his staff in Harrisburg as legislative counsel. Wilken spent the previous four years working for Senator Kim Ward, where she served as Chief Counsel.
Wilken has a vast knowledge and familiarity with the inner workings of Harrisburg. Her previous experience includes Chief of Staff to Senator Joe Conti and Deputy General Counsel to Senator Dominic Pileggi. She also worked in the Attorney General’s office and the Office of General Counsel, as well as for the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. Wilken has a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She received her Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law.
“Vicki will be an excellent addition to my staff and I look forward to working with her,” Senator Browne said. “Her understanding of the legislative process will prove very helpful and valuable as we look to tackle some of the biggest issues the state of Pennsylvania has ever faced.”
Wilken replaces Lesley Darrin, who retired at the end of 2012. Darrin worked for Senator Browne since he was elected to the Senate in May of 2005.
“While I am sorry to see Lesley leave, I know she will be successful in her new endeavor. She has been a tremendous asset to this office, myself and the constituents of the 16th Senatorial District over the past seven-and-a-half years,” Senator Browne said. “At the same time, being able to bring someone with Vicki’s experience in Harrisburg and with legislation on board to replace Lesley will make this a very smooth transition.”
Wilken will be the point person on legislation and issues dealing with the Education; Banking and Insurance; and Community, Economic and Recreational Committees. Senator Browne serves as a member of all three committees.
