Scarnati Appoints Browne as Caucus AdministratorWill serve on Republican Leadership team for 2009-10 Legislative Session Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-25) today appointed Senator Pat Browne (R-16) to serve as Majority Caucus Administrator for the 2009-10 Legislative Session. The Majority Caucus Administrator is responsible for scheduling activities before the caucus and working with Senate leaders to set the agenda and advance Republican policy. “Pat’s financial background and experience make him an excellent choice for this position as we prepare for the economic challenges before us in the upcoming session,” Senator Scarnati said. “Pat will provide valuable information on the standing of the Senate Republican Caucus and the Commonwealth as we work in a fiscally responsible manner to bring Pennsylvania through the current economic situation.” “I am pleased to be appointed Caucus Administrator for the upcoming session. I am truly honored by Senator Scarnati’s support and look forward to serving as a member of the Senate Republican leadership team for 2009-10,” Senator Browne said. “I am committed to working with my colleagues to uphold our responsibility to the taxpayers to ensure that Pennsylvania operates in a fiscally-responsible manner.” Senator Browne holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from Temple University. Prior to his legislative service, he was employed with the accounting firms of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse as a tax manager and senior tax associate, respectively. In addition to being a CPA, he is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
