Upper Macungie Twp., Wind Gap Receive Recycling GrantsMunicipalities earn "rewards for performance" Two Lehigh Valley municipalities recently earned Recycling Performance Grants from the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to Senator Pat Browne (R-16th District). Upper Macungie Township received a $383,041 grant based on the 28,237.3 tons recycled in 2006 and its population. Wind Gap received a $2,639 grant based on the 193.8 tons recycled in 2006 and its population. "These grants show that recycling is working in Upper Macungie Township and in Wind Gap. They reward the residents for their efforts and shows that recycling does pay off, both in preserving our environment and in funds from the state," Senator Browne said. "These grants are tributes to the recycling efforts of residents and businesses." Contact: Matt Moyer |
