Free Online Tax Filing Service Available

Program makes it easy for low income families to receive benefits

A new service will enable low-income individuals and families to easily file their federal and state tax returns online for free.  

Pennsylvania I-CAN!^TM E-File provides the opportunity for every low income taxpayer in the Commonwealth to obtain all eligible tax benefits, particularly the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which can give families up to $4,716 in their tax refund checks.

In order to qualify to use I-CAN! E-File, individuals (and spouses, if filing jointly) must:

1.      Have made less than $50,000 this past year

2.      Have Social Security Numbers (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) that allow you to work in the U.S.

3.      Have lived and worked in the same state for the whole year (if you are filing your state return)
